Discrimination Complaints Procedure

EEO Programsscales of justice> Discrimination Complaints Procedure

Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints of discrimination may be filed by the following population groups in two general categories:

    1) by applicants for employment, current employees, former employees, and some contract employees for employment-related issues, and

    2) by disabled members of the general public for lack of access or accommodation as related to Army facilities or services.

The first category is usually referred to as Title VII complaints.  The second category is covered by Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (Nondiscrimination Under Federal Grants and Programs and Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility) and AR 600-7 (Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Handicap in Programs and Activities Assisted or Conducted by the Department of the Army).

An overview of employment-related complaints follows. Specific questions on any aspect of EEO Complaints processing should be directed to the servicing EEO Office located at your installation or activity. Servicing EEO Offices are responsible for the administrative processing of EEO complaints under both of the categories listed above.
